We're all pretty healthy, and I continue to practice at the same pace, the frustration slowly growing as our Orange County Medicaid (CalOptima) is now enforcing their dialysis patient transportation regulations and taking away the Medivans from 75 year olds with diabetes, postural hypotension, heart failure, etc., etc., and asking them to cough up $2.75 for a one way trip to and from the hemodialysis unit via public transportation. For some of them, this gravely impacts on their ability to feed themselves. Appeal after appeal! This is medical care?
See, I may have disappeared, but the outrage still smolders!
Next week, I get to be on the other side of the system with dental surgery on Monday (local) and cataract surgery on Thursday. I can't decide if my new persona should be more Moshe Dayan or pirate? Which one had fewer teeth?
