Phil's Napa Mansion - More Photos

Some further pictures from last weekend's trip to the wine country. The dinner in the wine cellar was at 6 PM on Saturday. A separate entry will try to do justice to that experience, so I will try to post some pictures of Sunday morning, Mother's Day, at the Napa mansion. The Jean Lafitte bedroom has been posted already. The picture below is the front entrance to the mansion with the fountain visible and Torshia, my Porsche, just in front. It was raining so that precluded the hot ride that I thought I would treat Phil to, and probably saved me from a speeding ticket.

The view from the kitchen door looking across toward the garage. The ground was wet from the rain, but the view was so beautiful that I had to get a photo.

The mansion was damaged by an earthquake and Phil is slowly bringing it back to its former glory. The oak room has hand hewn oak railroad trestle wood used in its construction. It's possible to stand up inside the fire place.

An ancient dam controls the stream that runs through the property. We drove to the dam in a 4 wheel drive Sportage, the anti-Range Rover, or as Phil calls it, the "POS." We got out of the car and walked down to the stream bed through the rain.

On the way back to the mansion we encountered Phil's herd of black cows and calves. This picture was taken through the windshield.
