Getting Out to a Lecture

and not watching basketball, obsessively, between dictations and medical record keeping. We're off to Chapman College in Orange, to a lecture, "They Were My Neighbors," by Douglas Greenberg of the USC History Department and the Shoah Foundation. It is about Righteous Gentiles who saved Jews during the Holocaust, and one of my patients, a Greek Jew, who survived the German occupation of Greece, and wrote a book about his adventure, will be there.

Competing for time, but to be digitally recorded is Cal State San Bernadino, a surprise winner over Weber State, against the Bruins in a pre-season tournament. Bruins are ranked #2 nationally, and appear to deserve it, thanks to Keith Love, a 6' 10" freshman who will go to the pros next year, and returning veterans from last year's Final Four squad. This is basketball, not football. The Bruins are tough, and well coached.
