Brief Update

The month of November just flew by. Lin and I were at the wonderful Elderhostel on Cape Cod for the last five days in October. The next nine days, I worked as hard as I could, and on Monday, November 10th, we were off to Miami, to board the Crystal Symphony for a thirteen day voyage to Grand Cayman, Cartagena, Columbia, the Panama Canal, Acapulco, Cabo San Lucas and debarkation in Los Angeles. Before we left, on Saturday, we went to my Hamilton High School reunion luncheon. The 24th through the 26th, once again, I worked 12 hour days, and managed to get in my clinic work at SOS and La Amistad, before we flew up to northern California for Thanksgiving with Becky and the Bjurstens (Peter's family.) Returning home, November was gone!

December started with the usual full court press,12 hour days, until half-way through Friday, when off we went for a week in our time share condo in Palm Desert, this time into the studio bedroom, which to our jaded eyes, was like the Courtyard with a microwave! Once, it was luxe. We've become jaded, no doubt. Too long on the Crystal Symphony with waiters and room stewards, and six star cuisine! Spoiled, we are, but happy, and exhausted!

And during all of this, we've been comforted by the results of the election. That was really the big news, and we're still ecstatic. Even as the economy tanks, the near daily news conferences unveil a new administration that is so promising in nearly all of its members, and straight talk by a literate president elect who, I believe, will prove to have leadership qualities that we have not seen since Franklin Roosevelt. All of the rest of the news and events are pretty pale by comparison, but, for what it's worth, that's what we were up to.
